Tadalafil, commonly known by the brand name Cialis, is a medication used to treat various conditions including erectile dysfunction (ED), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and pulmonary arterial hypertension. It is also used in male patients for different reasons.
Cialis, or tadalafil, is often prescribed to treat ED. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, but it's not a one-size-OTHER.
Cialis is a phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the penis, particularly around thehola.
While most men take it as needed, some may experience several erections per day. This allows for more spontaneous sexual activity.
When Cialis is used to treat ED, it works by enhancing the natural erectile response to sexual stimulation. This process results in an erection that can last for hours.
However, tadalafil's efficacy goes beyond sexual stimulation. It enhances blood flow to the penis, allowing for an erection when sexually stimulated.
Cialis primarily works by blocking the enzyme PDE5, which plays a role in regulating blood flow to the penis. PDE5 breaks down cGMP, leading to the accumulation of blood in the penile tissues. By blocking PDE5, Cialis enhances this breakdown and thereby helps men with ED achieve and maintain an erection.
By blocking PDE5, Cialis enhances the effects of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which is responsible for relaxing blood vessels. This relaxation results in the formation of nitric oxide (NO), which activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, leading to increased levels of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. This leads to the production of dilation-dilation-constriction (DCC)2, a substance in the penile tissues that dilates blood vessels.
Cialis, generally taken as needed, is typically taken once or twice daily. However, it's important to note that Cialis can be taken without regard to timing.
If you take Cialis in the morning, you can take it with water or on an empty stomach, but it's recommended to take it at least 30 minutes to an hour before anticipated sexual activity. Cialis should not be taken more than once a day.
If you experience any side effects while taking Cialis, it's best to seek medical advice from your physician. They may suggest alternative medications or suggest a lower dose.
In some cases, Cialis may be taken with or without food. However, if you miss a dose of Cialis, take it as soon as possible and do not double up to catch up.
Cialis is available in 25mg, 50mg, 100mg, and 200mg formulations. The dosage may vary depending on individual needs and medical conditions. It's essential to follow your doctor's instructions when taking Cialis.
Cialis should be taken according to the patient's needs. Your doctor will assess your dosage and determine the most appropriate one for you based on your medical history and the individual's overall health.
The recommended dose of Cialis varies depending on the condition being treated. It's important to follow your doctor's instructions and not to adjust it without prior consultation with a healthcare professional.
Like all medications, Cialis can cause side effects. However, not everyone will experience these side effects.
Whether you can take Tadalafil at the same time as your other medications will depend on which medications you are taking.
You are required to complete a short medical consultation questionnaire that asks for any medications that you are prescribed from your GP and will indicate the medications that can’t be taken alongside Tadalafil.
There are several medicines which should not be taken concurrently with Tadalafil. Medicines which can have potentially serious interactions with Tadalafil include :-
• Any alpha-blocker medicines e.g. doxazosin (Cardura), alfuzosin (Xatral), tamsulosin, terazosin, or Flomax, that you can buy in the pharmacy. (These medicines may be used to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure).
• Isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, or use a GTN spray or tablets
for chest pain or use Rectogesic ointment?
• Nicorandil (Ikorel), used to treat angina
• Cimetidine, used to treat stomach or duodenal (peptic) ulcers
• Theophylline, used to treat asthma
• Antibiotics:- Clarithromycin, Erythromycin and Telithromycin
• Anti-fungals such as itraconazole and ketoconazole
• Seizure medication:- carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone
• Heart or blood pressure medication:- disopyramide, amiodarone, quinidine and procainamide
• Anti-viral medication:- telaprevir, atazanavir, retonavir, indinavir, saquinavir and cobicistat
• Recreational drugs:- amyl nitrate (poppers)
If you are taking any prescribed medication from your GP then you can simply write those in the “Is there any other medical information that you think our doctor should know?” section on the medical questionnaire. Then, our doctor will know whether the Tadalafil is safe for you to take.
Read available consultation questions before starting treatment with TadalafilThe usual dose is 50mg which will depend on the gram of Tadalafil you have centrifuged it into three equaliquirs and take it.
2How to take Tadalafil: when to take Tadalafil:
Do not take more than one medication a day (1 tablet a day). Take Tadalafil as prescribed by your GP. If you will be taking Tadalafil for more than 14 days before you intend to take it, then you will need to take the medication for a few hours more before you intend to take it. Do not take more Tadalafil than one PDE5 inhibitor within a 24 hour period.3
Also, if you miss a dose of Tadalafil, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. If you are not sure what to do, then take the next dose at least 30 minutes later. If you are not sure what to do after a dose, then take the next dose at the time you remember. 4
You should note that Tadalafil should only be taken on an empty stomach or after a light meal. You should see a doctor later if you need to take more Tadalafil than the suggested dose. If you continue to take Tadalafil you should wait at least 48 hours after which time you should get a prescription for it.
5Does Tadalafil have an04?
Tadalafil has an04 which is the strength and number of tablets that to use. This is due to be affected when Tadalafil is used to treat patients with type 2 diabetes.
6How should Tadalafil be taken?
Tadalafil is usually taken with a meal or on a walk in a light activity setting.
Tadalafil belongs to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors, primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Erectile dysfunction is the inability to keep a hard and erect penis suitable for sexual activity. Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also called prostate enlargement, is the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland.
Tadalafil contains ‘Tadalafil’, which works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis; this allows the blood to flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited. Thereby, it helps to treat erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil relaxes the bladder and prostate muscles, thereby reducing enlarged prostate symptoms such as difficulty in urination and urgent need to urinate.
You are advised to take Tadalafil for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, back pain, muscle pain, pain in the legs and arms, nasal congestion, indigestion, and facial flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take Tadalafil if you are taking nitrates (used to treat angina), riociguat (used to treat pulmonary hypertension) or alpha-blockers; if you have heart problems or stroke, low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure. Tadalafil is not intended for use in women. Tadalafil may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Tadalafil should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and the medicines you are taking to avoid unpleasant side effects.
Read the leaflet for doctor's advice and consent.Do not take Tadalafil if you are taking any other medicines, includingcipimine, ketoconazole, itraconazole or ritonavir
SenegalTadalafil may interact with other medicines you are taking, including any other medicines or supplements you are taking. Tadalafil should not be taken with ritonavir as it may interact with itraconazole and ritonavir. This can cause serious side effects such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, black and tarry stools, severe stomach pain, and fainting. If you are taking any other medicines, please ask your doctor before taking Tadalafil. Some common medicines and supplements used in taking Tadalafil include:
Tadalafil may cause dizziness or blurred vision. Do not drive with you if you are up-APD headache or nausea, or use up-APD headache or dizziness until you have gone to the doctor's. If you cannot drive with you, do not drive while taking Tadalafil. Do not drive if you are taking nitrates (used to treat angina), riociguat (used to treat pulmonary hypertension) or alpha-blockers; if you have heart problems or stroke, low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure
If you experience any of these while taking Tadalafil, tell your doctor as soon as possible.
Tell your doctor immediately if you experience chest pain, swelling, or difficulty breathing while taking Tadalafil, especially if you are taking other medicines. Tadalafil can cause dizziness or blurred vision in some individuals. Use of up-APD headache or dizziness until you finish taking Tadalafil can cause serious side effects such as nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, headache, and fainting. These effects may be more serious if you take other medicines, including up-APD headache or dizziness.
